DONATE to make a Difference - Canidae Dog Food

DOGGYFRIEND is proud to be able to do our part & collaborate with Forget Me Not Dog Shelter.

We hope our supporters can also support our good cause for this food donation drive.

During the Circuit Breaker, our furry ones at home have you to care & feed for.

However, the furry ones at shelters have no one but the volunteers to depend on.

There is only so much that they can do for them.

Donations for food are still very much needed.

Help us, Help them.

Everyone can make a difference. A small gesture means a lot to them.

We will take a picture of every food being delivered & will notify the donors each time the food is delivered to the shelter.
As this is a non profit donation drive, we will consolidate the donations & send every fortnightly.
If the response is good, we can arrange for weekly delivery.

Doggyfriend would like to thank the Singapore Canidae Distributor for setting the stocks aside for this food donation drive.

About Forget Me Not Dog Shelter:

Our Story
FORGET ME NOT·MONDAY, MARCH 19, 2018

SAVING FORGOTTEN LIVES.
IT WAS JUNE 2016, WE RECEIVED A CALL ASKING FOR HELP.
THERE WERE 4 SHELTER DOGS URGENTLY LOOKING FOR A NEW PLACE TO STAY.
IN ORDER TO UNDERSTAND BETTER, WE WENT TO VISIT THE DOGS.
TO OUR SURPRISE, THERE WERE MORE THAN 4 DOGS NEEDED A NEW PLACE TO STAY URGENTLY.

The shelter these dogs were in was in a rush to cease operation.
During our first visit, there were about 20 dogs, their owner had given up and the dogs had to get out of his shelter soonest.
The owner of the shelter was in the news about his pet cremation business for allegedly returning 'fake' ashes to bereaved pet owners.

Very shortly after, all the pedigrees were taken over.
The shelter was left with what they termed 'aggressive' dogs.
From our conversations with the owner, he was not concerned about the dogs well being nor their future welfare.
No surprises! Since they were labelled as 'aggressive' they were locked in their kennel and were not allowed to roam.
Asked of the dogs histories he offered none, simply shrugged ”aggressive dogs, keep them locked up".
Are dogs born aggressive ? We shook our heads.

It was a struggle for us to make a speedy decision, deadline for the dogs.
If nobody step forth the dogs would end up in AVA probably be terminated.
We found and fixed an empty broken shelter, arranged to move the dogs.
Yes, we did. We took over these unwanted 'aggressive' dogs and that's how it all began.

The day to shift the last batch of dogs out of the shelter was a big day for these dogs.
They were getting out of their kennels for the first time in years.
Being locked up for so long, the dogs had serious behaviours issues.
To ensure everyone's (dogs & human) safety, we did not have much choice but to sedate them for transportation purpose.

We took over 7 dogs from the shelter, these 7 dogs are the reason FORGET ME NOT started.

Within a short span the number of dogs grew rapidly, there are now 30 dogs from the ages for 4 years to 10 years.

Why? Because we had the 'space'.
Every dog came in with a pitiful story. Every dog came to us because they had nowhere else to go to.
Some of them had rescuers initially volunteered to bare the expenses of the dogs they brought in, after a while these ‘no-show” rescuers abandon their charges onto us.
If only they realised how much their dogs misses them.

Throughout these months, we had been trying our best to provide for the dogs.
Dogs were coming in and were 'dumped' to us. Is our kindness being taken for granted?
Months had passed, we realised we had to stop. Our kindness for the dogs shouldn't be misused by people.

Every dog has a story. Every dog needs compassion

We will be introducing the dogs here.
Extraordinary support from fellow canine lovers are needed.
While following us to get to know about our residents, please help these dogs in any ways possible.
They need funds for food, medications and shelter.
