Our Rodipet® EasyClean Ceramic GOBi Burrow for pet rodents was designed on the model of Mother Nature. Observations made during Rodenti® Expeditions to Mongolia in 2010 and 2016 were essential in developing this species-appropriate high quality product. The shape resembles the natural burrows of Roborovski dwarf hamsters (Phodopus roborovskii), and the product's properties are chosen to meet the particular needs of this species. The Rodipet® EasyClean GOBi rodent burrow makes for a cozy, durable pet home that can be completely hidden in bedding. Thanks to its top entrance, this species-appropriate burrow can be covered in 11 cm of bedding.As this pet house is designed to rest on the habitat ground there is no risk of your pet tunneling under the walls and causing the house to collapse into the bedding. The two entrances are angled in such a way as to prevent excessive brightness inside.
EasyClean: truly easy to clean
The lower part of the Rodipet® EasyClean GOBi Ceramic Burrow is glazed, so your rodent's urine will just flow off it. instead of soaking in as it would with wooden or unglazed ceramic houses. Moreover, the houses can be thoroughly cleaned by hand or in the dishwasher, giving them an extraordinarily long lifespan.
Nail care par excellence
Our pets' wild cousins run over sticks and stones and dig tunnels, which naturally shortens their nails. In human care, this natural process usually happens at a much smaller scale, if at all.The unglazed surfaces of Rodipet® EasyClean Ceramic items are great substitutes for those rough surfaces and offer pets an opportunity to shorten their nails just by walking on or through them, avoiding complications that can occur from overgrown nails.
Why is the entrance 55 mm in width?
A fully grown dwarf hamster with stuffed pouches, depending on their species, can be up to 5.5 cm in width. If the house's entrance is too narrow, the animal has to squeeze through. During this process, grains or other carried materials may prick and injure the pouches, potentially leading to pouch abscesses. Thus, we recommend an absolute minimum of 55 mm for all entrance holes - if your hamster chooses to partly close them up with soft bedding that is alright.

Rodipet® EasyClean GOBi Ceramic Houses are just perfect for pet rodents with a particularly strong urge to chew, such as dwarf hamsters and fancy mice: They are made from a very hard and tough type of clay and the thick walls make this product even sturdier.
Rodipet® EasyClean Burrow setup
When combined with a Ceramic Tube and a second Ceramic House or Burrow(not included), species-appropriate burrows can be created: in those, our pet rodents can live in a subterranean burrow made up of several tunnels and chambers, similar to what they would themselves dig in the wild. Many pets enjoy using those multiple chambers to create separate sleeping and storage rooms. If the tube is buried in a thick layer of bedding with the side entrance facing sideways, your pet can even use the EasyClean Ceramic Burrow system as the beginning of their very own home-dug bedding burrow!
